About SongMe

A small place to share songs and hear where they come from.

SongMe is a music-sharing site. Upload a track, and it gets a page with a waveform, likes and comments, just like you’d expect. The twist is the globe on the home page: every song can be pinned to the place it was made, so you can spin the planet and hear what people are making in Tokyo, Lagos or your own town.

How the globe works

When you upload, you can pick the city the song comes from (or skip it). New uploads light up on the globe as they arrive, and plays show up as they happen. You can also browse by place on the Explore page.

Your location stays fuzzy

We never put your exact location on the map. Pins are based on the city you choose, and coordinates are rounded to roughly 1 km, so a pin shows a neighbourhood at most, never a street or a house. Leave the location empty and the song simply won’t appear on the globe.

Who runs it

SongMe is a self-hosted, independent project, not a big company. There are no ads and no ad trackers. If something looks wrong, use the Report button on any song and a moderator will take a look.
