Copyright & takedowns
If someone uploaded your work without permission, here’s how to get it removed.
SongMe is a small, self-hosted service, not a large company with a legal department. We take copyright seriously and act on clear requests as quickly as we can.
The fastest way: the Report button
- Open the song’s page.
- Press Report and choose Copyright.
- In the details, tell us who you are, which work of yours is being used, and how we can reach you.
A moderator reviews every copyright report. If it holds up, the song is hidden from everyone and the uploader is told it was removed.
What to include
- Your name and, if you’re acting for someone else, who you represent.
- The work you own (title, link, release).
- The SongMe link(s) you want removed.
- A statement that you believe in good faith the use isn’t authorised, and that your notice is accurate.
If your song was removed
If you think a takedown was a mistake (for example, you own the rights or have a licence), contact the site owner with the song link and why. Repeat infringers will have their accounts suspended.
Formal notices
Site owner: add a designated contact (email or postal address) for formal copyright notices here. Until then, please use the Report button.
